Freedom Surveillance is an Australian made, designed, developed and supported, the Freedom VMS (Video Management Software) integrates existing and evolving CCTV technologies, allowing Multi-Platform CCTV support from a single software platform, it is possible to view and playback conventional analogue cameras as well as new higher resolution format camera technologies such as 960H, HD IP, HD-SDI and HD-CCTV™, across a choice of cable infrastructures including coax, CAT5 and fibre.

New CCTV Technology Choices

Expands and adapts to meet your needs Freedom Surveillance software employs it’s “Multi-Platform CCTV” architecture to expand your system from a single recording device to multiple recording devices. It will also enable you to connect high definition (HD) cameras and IP cameras seamlessly. New CCTV Technology Choices • Conventional analogue CCTV cameras. These are standard PAL resolution (720 x 576). They are connected to a DVR/NVR or encoder via conventional co-axial cable, CAT5 cable via baluns or fibre optic cable via fibre interfaces.

960H resolution analogue cameras. These cameras have a higher resolution CCD chip referred to as 960H (976 x 582). Some camera manufacturers more commonly refer to them as 650TVL and 700TVL cameras. However, only a small number of recording systems currently support the full 960H resolution. Many current analogue cameras being sold are 960H but are being recorded at lower resolutions.

HD-SDI (High Definition Serial Digital Interface) cameras. These cameras provide a higher resolution image of 720p or 1080p over conventional co-axial cable. They can be installed in a new installation or can be used to replace an existing camera connected via co-axial cable.

IP/Onvif video devices use the same communication medium and protocol that most computer networks use, that being Cat5 cabling and the IP protocol, which is the same protocol the ‘internet’ uses. IP cameras are available in a range of image resolutions up to 10 Megapixels and higher. IP cameras offer extensive edge analytics features including edge storage and edge video and audio analytics. IP cameras can also be accessed directly.

Freedom Surveillance guarantees more flexibility with the choice of cable infrastructure, CCTV camera technologies and costs associated with starting, maintaining and expanding a CCTV system. Importantly, a “Multi-Platform” architecture supports a wide range of technology choices to support short and long term CCTV requirements from a common user interface that is easy to use and cost-effective.

Freedom Surveillance - New Features

E-Map playback – earlier versions of Freedom Surveillance allowed the user to select a time and camera for playback from a “drop down” box menu. This is still a feature however, E-Map playback enables review of camera footage via a “click and drag” operation associated with a custom CCTV site map. This is very intuitive to use, click on a picture of the area you want to review and drag it into the playback window pane.

Timeline playback – To further enhance playback, Freedom Surveillance provides a timeline of each camera selected for playback. A simple click of a mouse over the section (time) you want to review will start camera playback.

Multiple camera playback – Up to four cameras can be reviewed simultaneously across multiple recorders. This is a powerful feature when you need to review an event and want to watch other cameras at the same time. This feature is also available in E-Map playback.

Synchronisation of playback footage – Once you have selected multiple cameras for playback, they can be synchronised to display video at exactly the same time regardless of the recording device the images are stored on.

Downloading and exporting recorded footage – Once you have identified the footage to keep or provide authorities e.g. police, investigators etc.. Freedom Surveillance enables you to download footage to a local PC workstation. Video footage can then be exported in native file format with encryption watermarking and a self executable player (runs straight off the removable media without the need to install onto a PC).

Freedom Surveillance software provides a graphical user interface (GUI) that can connect to various cameras and ancillary devices (such as DVRs, NVRs, servers and encoders), within a single window. Each GUI can be configured to have connection to all or selected cameras on the network. Additionally, cameras can be accessed over the internet or on smart phones, such as iPhone and Android.*¹ E-maps allow the user to see the location of the camera, then drag or click the hyperlink to bring up the camera. Freedom Surveillance Software includes this feature for playback not just live viewing.
